Rescuer of 11-year-old Girl says “Lord told me where to find her.”

This amazing story took place in April 2010, but hasn’t lost any of it’s encouraging power since then.

11-year-old Nadia

11-year-old Nadia got lost in the dense swamp of Florida and was missed for 5 days. While scores of organized professionals and volunteers systematically scoured the subtropical wilderness for any sign of her, hope of finding her alive began to fade.

That’s when a nothing short but a miracle happened.

It seemed almost too good to be true. Local church member James King set off at dawn on the 5th day because, he said, that’s what God told him to do. And he went pretty much straight to the lost little girl. You can watch this video for the full version of the story:

In this video rescuer James King shares more about how the Lord led him through the dense woods straight to the missing girl.

I especially love how the commentator says the police officer overseeing the search stated he’d “now believe in miracles”!

In an interview with CNN, King described his search like this:

Rescuer James King gives credit to God

“I see it as an answer to a lot of people’s prayers, I’m just very thankful, I’m thankful that God used me as a part of it to be able to find her. It’s definitely a miracle. I didn’t know where she was. The only person who knew where she was God, and I asked him and he led me directly to her, straight — well, as straight as you can go through the swamp.”

King said he prayed the whole time he was searching, even when it seemed like he was going in the wrong direction. In one case, he said, there was water all around and he didn’t know where to go.

“He said, ‘Go that way.’ And I’m looking at water. I said, ‘Lord, are you sure?’ He said. ‘I got ya.’ And as soon as I start walking, the ground under the water is solid. It’s only about a foot and a half deep. He took care of me all the way there.”

What do you think qualified King to be used by God? What can we as believers learn from this story?

Let me know what you think in the comment section below.

God is always speaking and directing us. We just need to tune into His voice and trust that He is leading us, and He will use us to bring miracles.

Right on, Jason! I love that you used the word “tune”, which indicates that God’s voice is always there (sending), we just need to tune into the right frequency by listening (receiving).
Can you think of a specific situation where you chose to listen to Him and He directed you? I’m always excited about testimonies :)

You\’re right it takes courage & trust to follow God\’s lead.

I wonder how many of us have missed an opportunity like this because we dismissed the word of the Lord. I hope we hear of more things like this, I hope that I will have \”an ear to hear\”

You\’re right JB, I\’m convinced there are opportunities everyday for each of us to represent the Father\’s love to people around us. Have you noticed how often it says in the Gospels that Jesus was \”moved by compassion\”? Everytime that happen he would drop whatever he was doing and completely focus on that single person. I think compassion is one of the most naturally supernatural ways God speaks to us daily.
